The Write Life

Seducing hearts, one story at a time, Author - Crystal R. Martin

I have a treasure chest sitting here on my desk. It is neither coated in gold or adorned with jewels. It is simply a little round ceramic box painted with a Japanese scene. Inside this beautiful box lie a few of my favorite treasures.

They are not gold coins or brightly lit jewels or silver chalices. Instead, my chest contains a cell strap given to me by a dear friend as my birthday present. As I dig deeper I find a cheap but beautiful necklace given to me by another friend. A dryer sheet scented in my favorite scent surrounds these goodies with a relaxing smell. Underneath all of it is the middle of sand dollar or what is known as a white dove. Also a small purple glass rose from inside a specialty cell strap that broke. My favorite pink earrings rest here too.

All these treasures are worthless in the eyes of a treasure hunter, but to me they are the most valuable of items. Why you ask? Because they hold connections. Connections to people and places and memories....That is what makes them beyond priceless.
