The Write Life

Seducing hearts, one story at a time, Author - Crystal R. Martin

So in the last eight months I have been on a journey of discovery. Let me start at the beginning. As a child and teen, I was never really given the opportunity to decorate/create my own space. I married young, settled down, and had kids. So until recently, I had never been free to design my own magical place.

Last week, I found purple faerie lights to wind among the butterflies I have hanging on my walls.

Above in the first picture you can see them with the butterflies, and in the second one you can see how lovely they look in the dark.

I have space that I truly enjoy and can relax in, if that makes sense. This for me is a new experience. To add to that, it got me to thinking deeper about our spaces and enjoying them. This would include our inner spaces.

I’ve always been a fey creature. That is my most favorite inner space. It’s the deep part of me that allows me to see what others may not. For instance Grandmother Willow, a magnificent wise old willow tree. She was a doorway to where the Fae live. Or for that matter the unicorn I saw as a child. The part of me that knows, that believes, that senses the magic in the moonlight. It’s an integral part of who I am. I can’t tell you how to love your spaces, but my hope is that you do.

Thanks for the notice, Crystal! I think your lights and butterflies in your room look amazing! So pretty all lit up, too! I think it is important to have a space you can decorate like you want. It makes you feel comfortable, and brings out your creativity. I know I like looking at the things I've put around my computer desk, in a corner of the living room. I'm not much of a decorator in the rest of the house, but this little part I can call mine. I'm glad you are enjoying the process of decorating just how you want it. :)

Love your decoration ideas and fairy lights are always brilliant and totally my favourite. I think it's brilliant that you have a space to relax and unwind and I agree with you that the inner spaces are as important as the outer spaces. :D

Lovely! Happy writing in your new, happy place. When we bought our current home five years ago, I was so drawn to the screened in gazebo outside and the small loft space inside. I so agree that we creative types need a space to call our own. Enjoy!

You should paint glow in the dark paint in your butterflies!

Wow that is such a cool idea! Gonna look for glow in the dark paint. Thank you! :D
