The Write Life

Seducing hearts, one story at a time, Author - Crystal R. Martin

This was inspired by Supermoon Love  Written by Lawrence Pearce. I haven't been able to let go of the idea until now. I hope you all like it.

My Heart

She eyed him with a small smile. "It hurt, but it's done." She waited for his curiosity to overwhelm. His eyes dilated and she could tell he wanted to ask. She slid the left side of her shirt over.

"Right here, over my heart. Come see." She waited until he stepped close enough to feel his body heat. Her eyes studied the face she loved without reservation. He sucked in a surprised breath.

"Yes...now my heart is yours forever." She dipped her head to look down at the fresh ink.

A beautifully designed letter of his name created with thorns and blossoms. Just above that in elegant script a single word.

Mine.

A blood red heart outlined it all. She smiled softly, reminiscing the time it took to create the permanency of such beauty.

"How bad was it?" His words whispered into her ear, slid through her body creating the heat that warmed her.

"For you, I could endure anything." His look of pure adoration was her pain medication. His lips ghosted over her cheek tasting the salty warmth trailing there. She had not realized tears were escaping. His thumb rose and wiped away the remnants.

His arms snaked around her waist and he gathered her close careful of the fresh art. She melted into the familiar embrace, happy to be home.

The one place that felt exactly right. She tucked her face into his neck, inhaling the scent of him. Something organic, comforting and exciting at the same time.

"Thank you, no one has ever given me such a gift." He spoke in a quiet solemn moment, admitting his own surprise. "I'll care for it as my own."

She nodded and placed a soft kiss against his neck. "I'm glad."
