Hi again, It’s been awhile hasn't it? Well last Thursday something
happened bringing this to life. I let it simmer over the weekend and now am sharing my thoughts. This is the beginning.
I read this with interest. I own the book, and like Marie. I
was saddened by the backlash. Later as I was scrolling through Facebook, I came
across a post of someone I know in the writing world. They were advertising
their new blog post. I won’t name names, because I am not into finger-pointing.
Their newest blog post was jumping on the bandwagon to disagree with the blown
out of proportion idea of keeping only thirty books.
I have a problem with this. I fight for the idea that you
should always speak your truth. But when you have to demean someone else to
make your point, you cheapen it. Your truth is valid and can be shared without
coming at someone else’s expense. This writer could have written the same
blog post about keeping all the books they love, and why, without the negative,
snarky current event spin.
So this is my point. Speak your truth always. Don’t cheapen
it at someone else’s expense. Write on…
