The Write Life

Seducing hearts, one story at a time, Author - Crystal R. Martin

    Hi all,

While I was at work taking my break, my co-worker let me ramble the tiniest bit about my writing. But what started that conversation was our mutual love of a certain television show. I mentioned that I referenced Leroy Jethro Gibbs, by creating his cousin Hollis Lee Gibbs, who’s also military.

That conversation got me to thinking and when I finally got home, I saw a post asking for things that brought hope, right? Well, that co-worker letting me ramble a bit, made me hopeful. She seemed excited by the reference and the nods to the show. Now I’m not explaining what show, because fans will know. Everyone else will just read about one of my characters.

All of this to say, I wonder do any other authors out here, drop nods to shows? Maybe like Easter eggs, I know Taylor Swift is notorious for stuff like that in her own way.

I live in a small suburban area that is lacking in readers and writers. Or I haven’t found my people locally yet. Personally, I love stuff like that, finding hidden gems. At some future point you may see other nods in my stories. I want opinions. Do you like finding Easter eggs in your stories? Interconnected worlds and overlap and all kinds of possibilities. Comments are love.

    Love you all!
