The Write Life

Seducing hearts, one story at a time, Author - Crystal R. Martin

Hey hi, We’re almost to mid-august. It’s been a crazy summer. I’ve been in my rom-com reading era. From the likes of Emily Henry to Abby Jimenez, it’s been what slaps. There has been lots of adjusting to new frontiers. I know I try to be fully transparent, but somethings are a little too close to the heart (read that as emotional and private) to talk about. I keep my business clean. It’s not anything bad at all.

Summer is fully here. It hit 103 today. I know lots of you in southern states are used to it, but not us northerners. Around eight this evening the wind was blowing, hard, but it was hot. That was quite weird to experience. Hot Wind, I’m forever calling Lucifer’s Gas.

I’m still adjusting to light duty at work. Being a door greeter is surprisingly awful at times. People make Walmart jokes way too much. They think it’s funny. I probably hear it at least ten times, in every four-hour shift. Most people have adjusted to a door greeter, so I get a wave, smile, nod, or some greeting. There are still snotty people. They laugh or roll their eyes or shake their receipt at me. I always yell, “That’s not why I’m here. Have a nice day.” I don’t add asshole, as much as I’d like to.  Anyway, that is not this post. I think people’s manners could be a post of its own.

I’ve been struggling to write, distracted by the other hundred things that need getting done. *Le sigh* If only we could clone ourselves, right, hear me out. Like the clones clean and go to work, and the OG me does the good stuff? Yeah…I’m liking that idea. But I hear you. Until it all goes wrong, right?

Okay time to slave away. I love you all. I don’t even know you, but you come read, and I appreciate it. Thanks for reading my rambles.
