The Write Life

Seducing hearts, one story at a time, Author - Crystal R. Martin

What a week! Right? Monday was September 11th, and at work, the vibe was awful. I didn’t know it was the eleventh. Tuesday and Wednesday were my days off and all I did was go. Lol. Also, I found out we recently lost one of our most memorable local teachers. Mr. Wagle. He was a little wacky, but very memorable, and made history interesting. Somewhere up in heaven, I imagine he’s listening to Drinking Rum and Coca Cola by the Andrew Sisters and rubbing shoulders with Neptune, ruler of the Seas. (There’s a story here, but that’s another post.)

Wednesday has a story all its own. My son made me dinner. He cooked a wonderful fillet of Chinook Salmon. Here’s where the story really begins. I managed to get a bone stuck in my throat. We tried all the online advice. At eight-thirty while dry heaving, I made the decision to head to the emergency room for help. Yeah, they were quick to get me back, but then it was hurry up and wait.

The Gastroenterologist (gi) doctor was occupied. At ten I sent my significant other home to get sleep for work. At midnight I finally got an update. They were sending me south to Vancouver to Southwest Washington Peace Health because they had an Ear Nose and Throat (ent) dr. on site. Our hospital does not, and depending on where the bone was, they didn’t know which doctor I would need.

By one a.m. we were on our way. Finally, after a couple hours they wrangled up all the equipment they needed. At four a.m., I had my first and hopefully only nasal probe/scope. They send a camera up your nose to look down your throat. It hurt pretty good. By that time, my coughing had dislodged the bone, and it was gone, thank goddess. The dr. could see where the bone had scratched the side of my throat. By the time I got home it was six a.m. I was up twenty-three hours. I called out of work at eight forty-five and slept until one. My throat is still tender but mostly better. Only in my world does this crazy stuff happen.

Thursday my youngest turned twenty-four. I can not believe how fast time is flying. Then today back to work, I had grumpy customers. It was in the nineties here, but don’t take it out on me, okay? Here’s my autistic moment of the day. I was leaving work, and we have a new assistant store manager. She was sitting near my locker eating lunch and we spoke normally. And then all of sudden, I said, “Is it just me or was it a crazy week?” I then diarrhea vomited a weekly recap, that she neither needed or wanted. I shall lay awake for years thinking about this one. You guys I kid you not.

Lastly last night was the new moon. I did a ritual with a crystal quartz, charging it under the new moon. After which you are supposed to carry it in your pocket, right? And this was the icing on the cake of this week. Click on my clock app link to see it.

New Moon Madness

I’ll tie up here, and call it I survived. At least Mercury is direct again, I think…. Love to you all.
